Okay! So Congressman Akin makes a statement which is outrageous. Not only
outrageous, but clearly demonstrating what is apparently a serious lack of
knowledge about biology. Not only outrageous, but, more important, is clearly
offensive to victims of rape. And, what happens? Almost everybody, with
few, very few, exceptions, Democrats AND Republicans, most conspicuously
Republicans, vociferously demand Congressman Akin immediately withdraw from
the Missouri Senate race.
Here’s what I don’t understand. Why wasn’t, isn’t, there a hue and cry for Vice
President Biden to resign the vice presidency and withdraw from the current
president/vice president race because of his recent clearly demonstrated
complete lack of good judgment by insulting and offending forty million black
Americans? Or, when the then vice presidential candidate insulted and offended
one billion two hundred million Indians. Or, when the vice president insulted and
offended tens of thousands of disabled Americans. Or, all the other utterings by
the vice president which have insulted and offended and should have brought
into question his reputation of being a mental giant.
I intentionally scouted dozens of liberal and conservative radio talk shows and
television commentators the past few days and found one, only one (there may
have been others, but I didn’t hear or see but one), which was not eager for
the opportunity to throw Congressman Akin on the dung heap of history for
his serious errors. What I was searching for was someone, anyone, who had
recognized the message that Congressman Akin was proffering. His message is
very simple and clear. At least it is to me and one very famous talk show host.
Congressman Akin’s message, I think it’s his message, is that a baby shouldn’t be
punished for the act of an adult. Not a defense of rape. Very simply a statement
of a position in defense of a baby.
Dammit……doesn’t anybody remember how a president was able to survive
several credible allegations of rape and sex harassment over a period of years
while in top elected state and federal offices …….the revelations of his salacious
misconduct in the oval office with an intern less than half his age……….proven to
have lied to the world in a televised denial of that salacious misconduct………and
several shady deals from which he greatly benefitted. And, sadly, that president
is revered and honored by the Democrat party. In fact, that president will be a
featured speaker at the coming Democrat Convention.
What about all the recent blatantly false attacks by the Senate Majority Leader,
Harry Reid, and Obama campaign officials and attack ads by the Democrat Party
and their surrogates against the Republican candidate for president? If any, all, of
those attacks were perpetrated in the “private sector”, they could possibly result
in criminal charges or at least civil litigation. Is it possible that any, all, of those
attacks could by subject to criminal charges, or at least civil litigation, even though
they were perpetrated in the “political sector”?
The question is: Why the hell does Congressman Akin receive such vicious,
vitriolic attacks from everyone for a non-criminal act, a non-civil liability act,
when so many other politicians, mostly Democrats it appears, get a free ride after
perpetrating far worse insults and offenses , some of which might be criminal
acts? WHY?
