Some parts of the Congressional Hearing today were disgusting. Some parts of the hearing were laughable. Some parts of the hearing were pathetic. Some parts of the hearing were meaningful. Here’s the breakdown:
1. FBI Director, James Comey, confirmed that Hillary Clinton is a liar of the first order and she is unfit to handle government secrets. He was constantly reminding the world watching that he is a straight arrow and his FBI agents are professionals and they conducted an investigation that was not influenced by anything other than the facts and that his ethics and reputation as a straight arrow are his paramount interest. He also demonstrated to everyone his tortured, contorted and convoluted “interpretation” of the law(s) which Hillary Clinton clearly violated.
2. The Democrats, every last one of them on the committee, contributed nothing but political diatribes with no substance or relevance to the subject of the hearing. Elijah Cummings did his typical mindless spewing of character assassinations and self serving garbage of nothing relevant to the matter at hand. Eleanor Holmes Norton (who by the way is a NON-VOTING Representative of Washington, D.C.) was pathetic in her verbal wanderings and disconnected gibberish. Every Democrat just wanted to rant about their own agenda. One even tried to suck Director Comey into making some kind of declaration about the shootings of the past couple of days. Comey graciously avoided that trap.
3. The Republicans…..all of them…..participated in and focused on the matter at hand. The purpose of the hearing. Some of them were extremely successful in demonstrating that Director Comey’s decision not to recommend prosecution of Hillary Clinton was based upon some irrational interpretation of law. But….Director Comey stuck to his guns. He did not waver from his assertion that his decision is the correct conclusion. And, the Republicans were very successful in making it abundantly clear with Director Comey’s confirmation that Hillary Clinton is a liar and jeopardized American security by her “extreme carelessness” in handling sectret information.
