Here are three miscellaneous subjects which might be worthy of your attention. Maybe not related subjects. Just some random items. Okay?
Let’s start with the TV show “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace. One of the interviewees on the show Sunday December 6 was HHS Secretary Alex Azar. Wallace suddenly interrupted Azar when the HHS Secretary referred to Joe Biden as “the former Vice-President”. Azar’s reference to Biden as “the former Vice-President” came after Wallace asked if America would be in better shape if President Trump had touted faces masks at the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic “like Joe Biden is doing right now”. Secretary Azar’s response was, “I welcome the former vive-President to the club.” And before Secretary Azar could finish his answer, Mister Wallace rudely cut in, “He’s the President-Elect, Sir”. Referring to Biden. Repeating, “He’s the President-Elect, Sir”. Do you think that shows Chris Wallace’s true political colors?
“I’ll Be Home For Christmas” is a beautiful, heart breaking, song written in 1943 by Kim Gannon and Walter Kent to express the feelings of military personnel serving in World War II. First recorded by Bing Crosby. It has become what is known in the music world as a “standard”. Why talk about a seventy-seven years old beautiful Christmas song? Glad you asked. Here comes the USPS, the United States Postal Service. What does the USPS have to do with a beautiful Christmas standard you ask? The USPS is running a Christmas, seasonal, TV ad. The video ain’t that bad. But…..BUT…..the audio is @##$%^%&**&^$#$! Yes, it’s that bad. There is a, pardon the expression, vocalist, singer, performing some portions of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”. The instrument backup isn’t too bad. But…..BUT……. the vocal rendition is HORENDOUS. SO….SO……SO……bad it’s probably making Gannon and Kent roll over in their graves. The singer just butchers the song.
Then, there’s MY PILLOW. This is a great American success story. Mike Lindell built that company from the ground up. Started at the bottom. Very meager beginning. No longer just pillows. Several product lines. Extremely successful. One of the selling points, a very important selling point, that Mister Lindell makes in many of his TV advertisements, is that his product is “MADE IN AMERICA”. IN his native state of Minnesota. That’s fabulous. MADE IN AMERICA. But…..BUT…… there’s one of his TV commercials that is a little curious. He brags, makes it a selling point, that the material in one of his products is made, produced in ONLY ONE PLACE. It’s quite strange that Mister Lindell is such a publicly ardent promoter of Americanism. When he proudly and boldly announces that one of his products is made ONLY from cotton grown ONLY in one small area of the Nile River Delta in Egypt. EGYPT ? What the hell is wrong with American grown cotton? Come on Mister Lindell. Ain’t it time for you to advertise not only “MADE IN AMERICA”……..but also “COTTON GROWN IN AMERICA”? Just do it.
That’s enough for this trip.
