A.C.B., that’s Amy Coney Barrett.
HEARING, that’s the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on President Trump’s nominee to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court.
Day Three.
Yup. The third day of the Senate Circus. Once again, we, the American People, who have the time to watch such “events” get to see how ridiculous, sometimes just plain stupid, but sometimes meaningful, our elected “officials” conduct themselves.
Today, the third day of the hearing, most of the Democrat chairs were empty. That’s correct. Most of the Democrats were absent. What does that tell you? It’s just likely the absentees realized they had made fools of themselves on Day Two. Realized they had said all they could say on Day Two. If they showed up on Day Three, they would just be repeating the futile efforts to land a damaging blow on the nominee.
Most likely they realized they were so far subordinate in every respect to the nominee. But, Senator Booker didn’t give up. He tried again to put himself on the same intelligence level as A.C.B. But, again …..he failed. A.C.B. is just too far over his head.
Senator Klobuchar took another stab at trying to get A.C.B. into some ”trap”. But, she just made herself look even more pathetic. And, Senator Harris just couldn’t resist taking another shot at trying to put A.C. B. in a “corner”. She bombed again. AGAIN ! Senator Harris couldn’t be in the hearing room. She had to do a remote from another room in the same building.
Proving what?
That’ she’s way out of her league. That’s all she proved. Along with all the other Democrats.
How did the Republicans do on Day Three?
Well, just fine. Not one screw up. Not one Republican Senator got caught trying to put A.C.B. in a “corner”. Because none of them tried to put A.C.B. in a “corner”. Senator Lindsay Graham is a perfect Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. He showed class and a high level of knowledge in the exchange with the nominee.
Maybe most notable was Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana. He too displayed considerable knowledge and ability in the purpose of the hearing. Delivering some of his witticisms during his time with the nominee.
SUMMARY. The Democrats appeared to tuck their tails between their legs and exit the hearing without any serious incidents.
SUMMARY. The Republicans and A.C.B. were clearly in control of the hearing. Resulting in what is certain to be a vote by the committee to pass the nomination on to the full Senate for a final vote.
SUMMARY. America, the American people, the Supreme Court will, without question, be better off when A.C.B. is sworn in as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
