A.C.B., that’s Amy Coney Barrett.
HEARING, that’s the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on President Trump’s nominee to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court.
Day Four, just a continuance of the clear attempts by the extremely partisan Democrats to “color” the hearing with extremely emotional presentations while the Republicans made presentations that seemed to be dedicated to the purpose of the hearing.
WITNESSES…….supposed to give “testimony” relevant to the qualifications of A.C.B., the nominee. But, the Democrats didn’t present one, NOT ONE, witness to comment on the A.C. B. qualifications. Instead, the Democrats presented individuals who gave detailed accounts of their medical and health histories. It is sad, very sad, that these individuals have suffered horrific medical and health problems. It is heartening that these individuals survived their horrific medical and health problems. That they are alive to recount their medical, health, experiences.
But, as horrific as their experiences may have been, they have nothing to do with A.C.B.’s qualifications. Sorry, but somebody’s horrible health condition has nothing to do with A.C.B.’s qualifications to be an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court. No matter how seriously bad and sympathetic a health condition might be. It has nothing, NOTHING, nada, zero, zip, to do with A.C.B.’s qualifications.
One of the most telling efforts of the Democrats was that Senator Blumenthal, Democrat from Connecticut, made a motion intended to seriously disrupt the process. The motion was soundly defeated. The other witnesses, the ones that might be labeled “Republican witnesses”, did… DID give “testimony” relevant to A.C.B.’s qualifications. And the ”committee witness”, the A.B.A. (American Bar Association), gave a very, complete, detailed analysis of the research into every aspect of A.C.B.’s history which might be relevant to her nomination.
That testimony revealed, what was already known. An unbelievably, staggeringly, uniquely qualified Amy Coney Barrett. Her personal life. Her academic life, Her private life. Her judicial life. Every corner of her life.
SUMMARY: The Democrats displayed some unseemly conduct towards the nominee. In some cases, even giving untruths. But, even though they probably won’t vote for an A.C.B. confirmation, all of them, tacitly accept the inevitable. The Democrats can see a winner, and they all know A.C.B. is a winner.
SUMMARY: It’s simple. The Republicans, every one of them, stayed true to the purpose of this Judiciary Committee Hearing. Showed a dedication to being, acting like, what a Senator should be. As Sergeant Friday said many times, “Just the facts”.
SUMMARY: Day Four showed how the Democrats are willing, ready and able to do anything to derail the A.C.B. confirmation. And the Republicans dedicated to keeping the confirmation process on track.
SUMMARY: Some “witnesses” gave nothing but emotion. Some “witnesses” gave nothing but fact.
